Why Do I Prefer To Use Airbrush Makeup

Airbrush makeup is flawless in person,  super hygienic, it is long lasting and it is rub proof.  Now aren’t they all the things you want from your makeup on your wedding day.

Airbrush Makeup Is More Hygienic Compared To Traditional Makeup

Traditional Makeup

Airbrush makeup is applied totally differently to traditional foundation.  Let’s have a look at traditional foundation which is applied with a brush or worse still with a reusable sponge.

If by chance you have a blemish or two on your face as the brush/sponge  is being used it will rub across the top and will possibly break the surface and spread the germs from the blemish and voila you have an extra couple of blemishes tomorrow or the next day.

Now if you don’t meticulously clean your brushes, (don’t even mention the sponges because you just can’t clean those at all) then those same germs are left to multiply and grow for the next time you use those brushes.  Any dead skin cells you lifted with your brush will also stay in there and possibly fall into your pores on the next application and cause a blockage.

Traditional foundation is one of the hardest things to remove from a brush, and unless you spend a lot of time actually washing and disinfecting your brushes you won’t remove all the nasties with just brush cleaner.

Airbrush Makeup

Welcome to airbrush makeup.  It is applied to the skin with a tiny spray gun. At no time does the airbrush touch your skin.  There is no cross contamination possible. So the chances of you being blessed with an extra blemish in the morning are minimised dramatically.

How Does It Look So Flawless?

Have you ever played with a toothbrush and splattered paint onto paper?  Airbrush works much the same way.

The brush sprays super fine layers onto your skin.  By allowing these layers to overlap it provides an even all over appearance.

If done correctly, airbrush can hide all manner of imperfections without having to use colour correctors or camouflage.

If when applying your makeup with a brush, you suffer from redness this method of makeup application will be your best friend.  Because nothing but the finest mist of foundation touches your skin, the redness will be minified.

Will It Rub Off When I Cry?

If you are the bride who is going to cry at her wedding you will love airbrush.

You will obviously have your makeup artist choose the correct foundation range for your skin type, but if there is a chance you are going to cry and your skin is suitable, a silicone based foundation will be best for you.

The silicone in the foundation makes it,  if not waterproof, very water resistant. Dabbing at your tears will be much better than rubbing so hard your skin wants to come off.

Unless you are crying buckets, dabbing will have a better result than rubbing.  Not only will it be better for your eyes, in that they won’t turn all shades of red on you, but it will also help to keep your eyeshadow in place.  And oh, if you had that lash tint, you won’t need mascara on your bottom lashes, making sure that you won’t have panda eyes.

Is It More Expensive?

Weddings are expensive and you just don’t want to pay any more than what you need to for your makeup.  I can understand this.

It is for this reason that I don’t charge any extra for this luxury service.

The way I look at it is what it costs me.  The high quality professional brand traditional foundations I use and the airbrush foundation costs me the same amount.  If I used cheaper products in the way of traditional, and this product was costing me more then yes, I would charge extra.  But it doesn’t so I won’t.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop me a line and we can organise a chat.

Till next time cheers Monika x
